Residency

The Residency is a two-year, full time program for individuals who are preparing to enter vocational ministry and need to build hands-on experience. As a resident, you'll prepare for ministry through intentional discussion with Planted staff, as well as other residents while engaging in meaningful ministry to push your limits and build healthy ministry habits and the spiritual resilience to help you thrive in a lifetime of discipleship-focused ministry.

You'll participate in ongoing education that sets the foundation for a lifetime of fruitful ministry. You'll be challenged to interact well with God's word, his creation, and his people. 

Partner with Another Resident

You will partner with another resident for peer-to-peer discipleship to deepen your personal devotional life, and build relationships to encourage and sustain you through difficult seasons of ministry.

How do residents spend their time?
This will vary depending on the area of ministry specialization, but each resident will spend time working in their ministry area, have regular one-on-one coaching with their ministry mentor, participate in weekly ongoing education, and meet regularly with their spiritual formation partner. Residents will also rotate through each area outside their specialization to gain familiarity with the broader ministry of the church.
How many hours do residents work?
The apprenticeship is a full-time, two year position, with residents generally working 40-45 hours per week.
Is the residency paid?
Yes, the residency is a paid position, with a salary appropriate to living in the Evansville area.
Do residents raise their own support?
Yes, residents are responsible for raising their own support to cover their salary and any benefits they opt into. Planted partners with Reliant Mission to provide training, coaching, and support with their support raising.
Who can apply to the residency?
People of all ages are welcome to apply to the residency so long as they have graduated from college by the time the residency begins.
Those who have completed at least one year in the Planted Apprenticeship are also welcome to apply, even if they have not yet completed their college education, although current participation in the apprenticeship program does not guarantee acceptance into a residency.
Where do residents live?
Most residents who are local will live at home with their families, while residents from out of the area will often rent an apartment or home with another members of the program.
Residents are responsible for finding their own housing.
