Ministry Specializations

Those serving in the Toddler & Nursery Specialization are responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children aged birth to three years. This role involves overseeing the nursery and toddler areas, ensuring that all activities and programs align with the church's mission and values. 

Those serving in the Preschool Specialization are dedicated to fostering a loving and dynamic environment for preschool-aged children (ages three to five) within the church community. This role involves managing the preschool area, ensuring it is safe, engaging, and aligned with the church's mission and educational objectives. 

Those serving in the Early Elementary specialization are dedicated to creating a warm, engaging, and spiritually nurturing environment for early elementary-aged children (typically kindergarten through third grade) within the church community. This role involves overseeing the elementary ministry space, ensuring it is safe, inviting, and aligned with the church’s mission and discipleship goals.

Those serving in the preteen specialization are dedicated to guiding preteens (typically grades 5–6) through a formative and transitional stage of spiritual, emotional, and social growth. This role focuses on creating an engaging, age-relevant ministry environment where preteens can explore their faith, ask questions, build meaningful relationships, and develop a deeper understanding of who God created them to be. They will implement curriculum that includes interactive teaching, small-group discussions, service opportunities, and activities that foster community and ownership of faith. 

Those serving in Volunteer Training and Retention are responsible for cultivating a thriving, well-supported volunteer team that equips the church to serve children and families with excellence. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining systems that strengthen volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and long-term engagement.

Those serving in Special/Specific Needs will assist in creating a safe, welcoming, and gospel-centered environment for children and students with a range of support needs and their families. This role provides hands-on ministry experience, mentorship, and training in adaptive ministry strategies, classroom support, leader development, and family care. 

This specialization focuses on engaging middle school students with Jesus in fun, welcoming environments that spark curiosity, joy, and excitement at a formative age. Apprentices and residents will learn the strategy and logistics of middle school ministry while gaining hands-on and behind the scenes experience caring for students, building meaningful relationships, and partnering with families to support students as they begin forming their own faith.

Those serving in this ministry will help create a welcoming and Gospel-centered environment for high school students during this pivotal time in their lives. Apprentices and residents will learn the logistics and strategy of high school ministry while gaining hands-on and behind-the-scenes experience in student care, event planning & execution, discipleship, and partnering with families to support students through formative years. 

This specialization focuses on engaging college students with the Gospel in welcoming, relational environments during a season of independence and transition. Apprentices and residents will learn the strategy and logistics of college ministry while gaining hands on experience caring for students, and helping strengthen and shape the ministry in ways that more effectively reach and disciple college students. 

Those serving in First Impressions will help create a warm, welcoming, and gospel-centered environment for guests and regular attenders from the parking lot to the worship center. This role provides hands-on experience in hospitality systems, volunteer coordination, and shaping a distraction-free pathway for people to connect more deeply with Christ and His church. 

Those serving in Connections will assist in helping people move from first-time guest to fully engaged participant in the life of CFC. This role provides hands-on experience in follow-up processes, next steps pathways, relational connection, and assimilation strategies that help adults find their place on the path. 

Those serving in Small Groups will help cultivate environments where adults can grow as disciples in community around God’s Word. This role provides hands-on experience in group formation, leader development, curriculum support, and care structures that help people take next steps with Jesus and one another. 

Those serving in Christian Education will assist in planning and supporting classes and learning environments that deepen biblical knowledge and doctrine for adults. This role provides hands-on experience in course development, teacher support, resource curation, and equipping strategies that help believers grow in understanding and applying Scripture. 

Those serving in Men’s Ministry will help design and support environments that call men to follow Christ faithfully at home, at church, and in the community. This role provides hands-on experience in event planning, small group and mentoring structures, and discipleship strategies aimed at engaging men in authentic community and mission. 

Those serving in Women’s Ministry will assist in creating spaces where women can know God’s Word, build Christ-centered relationships, and serve together. This role provides hands-on experience in gathering design, Bible study support, leader development, and care initiatives that encourage women in every stage of life. 

Those serving in Singles and Young Adult Ministry will help reach and disciple unmarried adults and young adults as they navigate key life transitions. This role provides hands-on experience in outreach, community-building events, discussion-based environments, and mentoring pathways that foster belonging, growth, and mission for this unique season of life.

Those serving in Pastoral Care will assist in providing spiritual and practical support to individuals and families walking through crisis, grief, and major life events. This role provides hands-on experience in visitation, prayer ministry, coordination of care teams, and shepherding practices that demonstrate Christ’s compassion in difficult seasons. 

Those serving in Community Engagement will assist in identifying local needs and developing strategic initiatives to foster relationships and share the Gospel within our immediate geographical area. This role provides hands-on ministry experience, mentorship, and training in needs assessment, project management, local outreach strategies, and mobilizing volunteers for service. 

Those serving in the Local International Ministry will assist in reaching, serving, and discipling the nations residing within our city and surrounding area. This role provides hands-on ministry experience, mentorship, and training in cross-cultural communication, language and cultural sensitivity, developing specific ministry programs for various people groups, and partnership development with international organizations. 

Those serving in Global Missions will assist in supporting, assessing, and communicating the work of our long-term church planting and missionary partners around the world. This role provides hands-on ministry experience, mentorship, and training in missionary care, strategic funding and resource allocation, global partnership development, and cross-cultural ministry principles for supporting Kingdom work globally. 

Preaching residents will have the opportunity to engage in sermon development and critique, honing their ability to communicate God’s word in multiple settings in the church. They will be challenged to preach the Gospel clearly from Scripture, with a focus on the exegetical study of God’s word.

Those serving in this area would observe, co-counsel, and eventually counsel hurting members of the congregation on their own, under the supervision of one or multiple staff members. They will learn from and with those who have experience in the care of souls.

Those serving in this area will engage with elements of video production, camera operation, graphic integration, audio mixing and/or recording, lighting programming/operation, video directing, and much more. This position will include regular involvement in weekend worship services and events.

Those serving in this area will gain experience in elements of graphic/visual design, lighting design, creative concepts, photography, video, social media, and other artistic elements. This position will include regular involvement in weekend services and events.

Those serving in this area will gain experience in areas like the website, livestream, and mobile app integration. They will assist with licensing administration, church management systems, church-wide and departmental communication, project and event management, as well as volunteer training and scheduling.

Those serving in the worship ministry will help create environments that engage the heart, soul, and mind with the truth of who God is, and what He has done. This role provides specific training in musical development, service planning, logistics & organization, and shepherding volunteers. Residents and apprentices will come away with practical training and an increased love for God and His people.
